Getting involved

Make a Contribution

Financial contributions are the life blood of any non-profit organization.  Cash, check or debit/credit card contributions are always welcomed and appreciated.  Consider a gift in honor or in memory of a family member or lifelong friend.  Suggest Habitat for Humanity of Stokes County as a recipient of contributions in lieu of gifts for weddings or flowers during funerals.  Of course, contributions of new building materials, donations of home furnishings to ReStore, purchase of home furnishings from ReStore, or provide lunches during a house build are other ways to support our mission.  Then, spread the word!  Tell a friend or family member and encourage them to participate and contribute as well.  Everyone makes a difference!

Become a Volunteer

Habitat invites ALL people to build houses together in partnership with families in need. But volunteers are needed year round, not just when we are building a house. Contact us to learn how you can best help our organization. Every hand makes a difference!

Church Involvement

Why should your church get involved?
Habitat for Humanity relies on the generous support of volunteers to help reach its goals. Likewise, Habitat for Humanity offers unique opportunities for congregations to experience their faith in new and exciting ways. Participating in a Habitat Project can:

  • Help people see the spirit of God at work outside the four walls of the church.
  • Help build the church. Habitat may be the spark that gets people excited about working in Christian community.
  • Help the church fulfill its mission to minister to persons who are in need.
  • Enable individuals to use their God-given talents for ministry.

How can your church get involved?

  1. Pray –  Prayer is the foundation from God that Stokes County Habitat for Humanity Stokes County relies on.
  2. Get Involved by volunteering during the builds. We rely on volunteers to help construct the house in order to keep costs as low as possible.
  3. Help by donating financially to our organization. Direct donations; participating in our fundraisers, designating Stokes Habitat for Humanity as your special offering for VBS, Mission Sunday, or other special occasions.
  4. Providing lunch for the crew on a Saturday.
